Kings Head Pub
This property once owned by a member of the Lynch family, was later confiscated by Col. Stubbers who served under Cromwell and is said to have been the executioner of Charles I. Hence the name Kings Head. |

Matthew meets Switzerland
I was walking down the street looking for some trouble to get into when I heard the sound of Irish music and people dancing. When I popped into the Crane I found a couple of Irish lads teaching these ladies to dance. I sat back and watched them dance for a while and when they finished I got up to look for more trouble. However . one of the guys stopped me he asked where I was going. "To look for something happening in town." He told me to grab a beer and join them because the place would be packed in a half hour. Of course there was very little argument from me. ;) And he was right in a half hour the place was packed and I was in the company of a table full of beautiful ladies from Switzerland. I think that is why they call it the "luck of the Irish." |

We met in Galway and was kidnaped by her and her friend Paige after they had smuggled me onto a tour bus. Again why fight a good thing. ;) I had a lot of fun with you girls. |

Lynch Castle (Now a bank)
On top of being a McSheehy, I happen to have Lynch blood as well. My Great grandfather's mother was Honora Lynch. The Lynch family has a rich history in Galway. This is where the mayor of Galway (Lynch of course), forced by his good conscious, hung his only son for murdering a family friend out of jealousy. The town’s people gathered around the house to prevent the mayor from taking his son to the gallows out of respect for the mayor, knowing the mayor was only trying to do the right thing. The mayor took his son upstairs and from the window the towns people witnessed a father kiss his only son just before hanging him from the rafter of his house. The Pope sent a rosary and his personal condolences to the mayor in honor of the mayor’s sacrifice for justice. In a backwards way this is where the term lynching comes from. |

Band at the Quays
I recognized this woman from my last visit to Ireland. We had caught one anothers eyes and so I asked her to join me for a drink later. We ended up spending the end of the evening talking together. . . . Of course I was following my personal motto: Never pass up an opportunity to talk with a beautiful lady. |
